From a young age, JR Davey’s connection to the outdoors was undeniable. At just five years old, alongside his grandfather in the rainforests of Washington State, he experienced his first successful hunt—a moment that would ignite a lifelong passion for hunting and conservation.

Two and a half decades later, that passion has only grown stronger. JR has spent years pursuing big game across the Western United States and mastering the art of tag application. While he thrives on the challenge of the hunt, JR finds equal fulfillment in helping others succeed in the field.

A devoted husband to Jessica and father of three, JR and his family spend much of their time outdoors. In the fall, they can often be found in the mountains after school hours, creating memories in pursuit of deer and elk. Throughout the year, JR travels across the West, continuously exploring new areas, assisting friends and family on their hunts, and expanding his expertise.

With a deep-rooted passion for mentoring hunters and a commitment to making Western hunting more accessible, JR founded The Hunt Source. His mission is to guide hunters through the complex application process, share valuable insights, and help them maximize their opportunities for success in the field.
